History

This home is not present in the 1909 map of Haverford Township, but it is included in the 1913 map. Its first owners I could track were the Dannenhauers, who, before even the 1920 census got into trouble. Frederick, the head of household, was a German immigrant who came under fire in 1917 for his loyalty towards Germany during the First World War, generating lots of outrage in the Llanerch community.

Paul died in August 1938 of kidney issues. Evidently, 1938 was not a kind year to the Baughs. Less than a month later, a fire broke out in their home after newspaper kindling spread outside of the fireplace, causing $1,500 in damages. The home was put up for sale in November and in March 1940, the Rutherford family lived there.

The family lived in the home at least until the death of Alta Bentley in 1953. The McBride family was living there by 1956 at the time of their son Anthony's death. He was a student at Florida Southern College and was shot and killed by another student who was expelled and demanded McBride aid and abet his escape, to which McBride declined.

Anthony, Sr., his father (an Irish immigrant), died the following year, and in 1962, his widow sold the home to the Bonner family, and the home went on sale the following year for $18,900. A relative of Smith family probably lived in the home by 1964, since Bessie Smith of Philadelphia died in 1964 and shiva was announced to be at their house. By 1973, Bruce Levy was living in the home, and it was sold to the Lindleys in 1980 for $50,000. In 1999, they sold the home for $209,000.
